I’m an Assistant Professor of Data Science and Computer Science at Chaminade University of Honolulu. I teach courses in data science, statistical modeling, and computing, and I mentor undergraduate research and capstone projects. I focus on research methods and analytics, and bring a humanistic, ethics-centered perspective to how I teach and practice data science.
My background is in experimental linguistics (psycholinguistics, laboratory phonology, and phonetics), fields built on experimental design, acoustic measurement, and statistical modeling. I’m interested in how listeners use prosodic and voice-quality cues in real-time word and sentence processing, including ongoing work on phonation in Thai. Looking ahead, I’d like to explore how speech technologies and speech recognition systems handle prosody.
